The 2023 Salmon fly fishing season has started with very low waters throughout our Devon rivers. Over the last weeks on the river Taw several Spring fish have been caught, which is great news. For the next few days we have very cold weather and no immediate rain forecast. Since the 2021 salmon season opening there’s been a few salmon caught in the lower regions of the rivers this March which is encouraging.
Well, the trout fishing season isn’t far off on the Taw now. We’re super excited and have already taken bookings for the coming season.
I feel lucky to live in Devon and as a fly fisherman I am spoilt with choices available which allow me to fly fish for trout, sea trout and salmon all within a few minutes drive.
