We are starting to see signs of the fish rising now. We had guests out yesterday who caught fish rising to large brook duns. Great news!

The rain has stopped for the time being and the river is dropping back. Dust down the salmon gear!
The weather has had an impact on the river in the short term. We’ve already lost some guiding days which is a shame but the is always a silver lining: it should bring some salmon up!
We had our annual start of the season gathering to celebrate the start of the trout fishing season here in Devon. Trout were caught and a good time was had!
The first salmon are starting to be caught on the Taw. 2 so far as of 17/3
Well, it is one day til the trout season opens on the Taw. Excited? Just a little!
The first of the daffodils have appeared in the garden which means the fishing season is getting close. Excited? Just a little!
With over 6 miles of fishing available at the Fox and Hounds we are able to offer another 3 miles of fishing that is exclusive to our fishing school. This means you won’t bump into another anger who has just fished the pool ahead of you!
