We’ve had some much needed rain to freshen the water up and to hopefully send some salmon our way. The dry fly fishing has been outstanding of late with fish rising to olives. Be sure to scan the water and look for the rise!
We’ve had great fun targeting fish rising to olives the last few days. I can’t remember such great early season hatches.
The weather has been either warm or cold so it has made the fishing mixed. That having been said we have been catching some nice trout on dry flies!
A few more salmon have come off of the river mainly on the middle sections. No real signs of sea trout although a few have been caught at the very bottom of the river.
We’ve started catching a few more fish on dry flies which has been great news!
The grannom hatch has pretty much finished. Still some large brook duns and March Browns. Fish preferring the bigger dries right now.
We are starting to see signs of the fish rising now. We had guests out yesterday who caught fish rising to large brook duns. Great news!
We still have some good water for salmon so if you fancy swinging some flies let us know!
The river has dropped and the fish are starting to bite. Grannom on the water along with Large Brook Duns.
Well, Pete has caught the first salmon of the season at the Fox and Hounds so we are off the mark!
