The cool starts of the last few days has meant that dry fly fishing has been slower to get going. The hatches are pushed back a little but we’ve been catching fish on dries as late as 5pm.

Well, it’s been a busy few weeks. The trout are rising but the recent cold snap has meant we have had to work a little harder for the fish. There are the odd salmon around too!
We are starting to catch more fish on dries as we have had good hatches of large dark olives and grannom.
Our fly fishing day was a huge success with 50 attendees. The day covered hints, trick and tips for the newcomer to fly fishing up to the advanced. Huge thanks to Charles Jardine for coming along and making the day so special!
Recent rain has had little effect on the river but we are hearing of more salmon being caught farther down the river. They’re heading our way!

Great to see some fish rising in good numbers yesterday. They were on grannom and olive duns
It has been a busy time on the water and we have been catching fish. Most have come to nymphs but the hatches of insects are getting heavier and it won’t be long before trout are starting to look at dry flies!
We’re starting to catch the odd trout on dries and even had an angler hook a salmon when trout fishing this week.
Warmer weather would be welcomed!
