Pete Tyjas Fly Fishing Guide
He has been a full time fly fishing guide since 2003 and has an intimate knowledge of many of the rivers in Devon although the Taw is the one he comes back to again and again.
Pete is an AAPGAI instructor and Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Guide. Most of all though he is a passionate fly fisherman who travels the world casting a fly at both trout and salt water species. He has fly fished throughout the American Mid West where Colorado and Montana and among his favourite destinations. He has also fished in New Zealand and loves to fish the flats for bonefish, tarpon and permit. He has fished in the Bahamas, Belize, Mexico, Venezuela and Tobago.
If you are visiting any of the destinations he will be very happy to advise on them or just to talk about the fishing there.
The streams of Devon are his favourite though and be it the smallest of streams to the larger rivers he enjoys nothing more than trying to catch the wild brown trout of the Westcountry on a fly rod. Bass are also a quarry he enjoys catching too and spends many happy hours fishing for them.
The philosophy of Pete and his team of guides is not just about catching fish. It’s about the whole experience of being out on the water and enjoying every moment of it. It just doesn’t matter if a cast doesn’t go to plan or a fly gets caught in a tree. There is always another great pool waiting around the corner!
