Fly fishing with a guide - The Devon School of Fly Fishing

Sometimes having someone standing next to you when you are fishing can be a little unnerving at first but a good guide will ensure that his guest is put at ease and ready to have a great day on the water.

The key of a good guide is to ensure that most of all his guest has a good time, enjoys the river and catches a few fish too!

All guides are keen for their guests to catch some fish and it is important your guide should know exactly what is happening on the river. We find hatch times and moods of the river are ever changing and we feel it is important to know exactly what is happening and when it is happening.

If we are not working on the river you can be sure we’ll be out there fishing it so we’ll have our finger on the pulse.

At the end of the day though one of the most important things a guide can do is know exactly what you want from the day. If you aren’t asked make sure you tell them and enjoy your day on the water!
