For salmon fishing in Devon we have found that using a switch rod has been a big advantage for us and for our guests when we take them salmon fishing.
So what is a switch rod? Basically it is a rod that you can switch between using as a long single handed rod or short double handed rod. I have been using one for a few years now and have to say that are perfect for salmon fishing in Devon.
I have worked hard on finding the line that will work best for my fishing applications but there are now fly lines starting to come to the market place designed especially for use with switch rods.
I prefer an 11ft rod and have used this on the Taw but also further afield in Scotland and have found it perfect for the job.
