Welcome to the Devon School Of Fly Fishing. We specialise in providing fly fishing tuition and guiding in beautiful Devon for beginners all the way up to the very advanced.
We are located at Eggesford in mid Devon and are able to offer guided fly fishing for trout, sea trout and salmon on over 5 miles of one of Devon’s most famous rivers, the Taw and we have a private lake which is the perfect venue for fly fishing lessons and a great place to catch your first trout!

We are full time instructors with many years of experience between us but you’ll think your first fish is our first fish and we’ll be just as excited as it comes into the net! We are committed to providing you with a memorable fly fishing experience and believe in going that extra mile to make your time with us all that more special,
from the fishing itself to all the other little extras like watching a kingfisher or being lucky enough to see an otter. We always say to newcomers that if 10% of our enthusiasm rubs off on you it will be enough to last a life time!
Devon School Of Fly Fishing is unique in being located at the famous fly fishing hotel The Fox and Hounds. We are able to offer fantastic and varied fly fishing in a beautiful setting. If you are travelling down to fish with us we are able to offer fishing and accommodation packages should you need them but you do not have to be a hotel resident to have a days guided fly fishing or fly fishing tuition. Imagine finishing breakfast and then making the short walk down to the river or lake or finishing a sea trout session late at night and knowing you’ll be tucked up in bed in just a few short minutes.
