Are you ready? The mayfly are just starting to appear in small numbers but the hatch is only going to start building and it won’t be long until the fish get “locked on” to them.

The weather has been either warm or cold so it has made the fishing mixed. That having been said we have been catching some nice trout on dry flies!

The rain is giving the river a much needed flush that will also hopefully bring some salmon on to the Fox and Hounds waters!
We are starting to see a few more mayflies and the fish are starting to rise some more too. It’s looking good!

The cool starts of the last few days has meant that dry fly fishing has been slower to get going. The hatches are pushed back a little but we’ve been catching fish on dries as late as 5pm.
Recent rain has had little effect on the river but we are hearing of more salmon being caught farther down the river. They’re heading our way!
We are really looking forward to the Westcountry Fly Fishing day this Sunday. Hope to see you there!
