We’re pretty much through the mayfly hatch. It probably wasn’t one of the most memorable but plenty of fish have been caught and anglers are happy. We continue to wait for some rain so that we can go and chase salmon once more!

We’ve started catching a few more fish on dry flies which has been great news!
The grannom hatch has pretty much finished. Still some large brook duns and March Browns. Fish preferring the bigger dries right now.
Well, Pete has caught the first salmon of the season at the Fox and Hounds so we are off the mark!

The rain has curtailed early season salmon fishing so far but it will mean the rivers are in good shape and ready to fish!
The salmon season snow under way here and the water is perfect. Good news for the trout anglers that we saw LDO and plenty of midges hatching at lunchtime!
