The river is low but the fish have still been biting. Caddis and midges are main items on the menu right now.

The mayfly are still hatching and the fish are taking them. There are some sea trout on the hotel water too. Call us for up to date info!
The mayfly are hatching, the sea trout are starting to appear and there are even a few salmon on the Fox and Hounds water. It’s all happening!
Sea trout are starting to be caught on the Taw and so if you’d like a guided sea trout session be sure to get in touch. We offer guiding on a hourly basis and fit it around how long you’d like to fish for.
Are you ready? The mayfly are just starting to appear in small numbers but the hatch is only going to start building and it won’t be long until the fish get “locked on” to them.
We’ve started catching a few more fish on dry flies which has been great news!
The grannom hatch has pretty much finished. Still some large brook duns and March Browns. Fish preferring the bigger dries right now.
We still have some good water for salmon so if you fancy swinging some flies let us know!
Well, Pete has caught the first salmon of the season at the Fox and Hounds so we are off the mark!
The rain has stopped for the time being and the river is dropping back. Dust down the salmon gear!
