Well, the river height seems to be dropping and we are fishing again. Fish were caught on nymphs today but once things start warming the trout will be looking up!

The rain has stopped and the rivers are starting to clear. Will this be enough to bring a spring salmon our way? Our fingers are very tightly crossed. We landed the first salmon on April 10th last year.
The season has got off to a flier for us with guided days, casting tune ups and brining new anglers in to fishing too.
We have had to work hard to find the fish this early on but it has been worthwhile when we have.
The hatches are getting a little heavier now and my hope is that we’ll start to see some rising fish really soon!
The hatches are starting to happen now and we have had a few LDO and plenty of midges. It won’t be long before the trout start looking up!
So far this season the fishing has been better on the mornings that start with temps just that little bit warmer. It has been harder going when we’ve driven to the river and the car reading has been 3deg.
Well, the trout season is now underway. A group of anglers met at the Fox and Hounds for coffee, fishing chat and then hit the river.
