Two fishing students and their fish

Thank you so much for such a wonderful day on Thursday - I very much enjoyed it and will certainly be back to the West Country soon...

Teaching pitching from the river port

Just a few lines to thank you for the brilliant day on Friday.  We both enjoyed the day immensely and look forward to our next trip.

Caught his first fish

A really marvellous day’s fishing!  Over and above the things I have learnt is the real pleasure of talking through the fish and sharing the pleasure of those awkward takes.

Fly Fishing In Devon

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

As we enter the last month of the season we are looking forward to some great back end fly fishing in Devon. The rain has meant that the salmon are starting to enter the hotel beats which is great for the angler looking to try their luck.

Please contact us for details of guiding or tuition and we’d be happy to help!

2010 season underway!

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Despite cooler conditions than we hoped for at the start of the season fish have been caught, some on dries. Opening day saw Mo Graham return a 14 inch brown caught on a pheasant tailed nymph.

Salmon have been caught further downstream and despite the most recent spate none have been seen on the hotel waters as yet but they shouldn’t be far away.

The April edition of Trout and Salmon has an article by Devon fly fishing legend Mike Weaver visited during the mayfly last year. The highlight for me was the two of us both playing 12inch plus fish at the same time just a few feet apart!

A regular to our fishing school, Ian, had the first fish from one of our new beats and we hope there will be a lot more to come!
